Your Pathway to Becoming a Teacher

Graduates of this programme don’t just teach Pilates—they educate, empower, and create meaningful connections with their clients. You’ll graduate with:

  • Comprehensive training in mat Pilates (Part 1) and all Pilates apparatus, including reformer, trapeze table, ladder barrel, spine corrector, and Pilates chair (Part 2).
  • The confidence to create safe, inclusive, and client-centred movement experiences.
  • A robust understanding of the body’s systems and the ability to help clients become resource-rich through movement.

To be certified by us, you must:

  • Complete a series of quizzes at different stages of the programme.
  • Maintain a minimum of 80% attendance.
  • Successfully pass the final practical and theory exam.

Trainees will also have the option to take the national exam (PMC) after completing Part 1. For those pursuing the NCPT title, Part 2, combined with required teaching hours and additional training to meet the 450-hour criteria, will help you achieve this prestigious certification.

Part 1 – Science of Embodiment and Pilates Mat Repertoire

Develop foundational knowledge in embodiment, trauma-aware practices, and mat-based Pilates, aligned with national Pilates PMC standards.

  • Module 1: Beginner’s Map into Body Systems
    Explore the interconnectedness of body systems to foster deeper embodiment and understanding of movement.

    Engage in hands-on learning to embody physiological and anatomical principles for functional movement.

  • Module 3: Mat Repertoire of 34 Exercises & Art of Cueing
    Master the classical mat repertoire and develop precise, impactful cueing skills to guide clients.

  • Module 4: Assessment, Exercise Selection & Class Planning
    Learn to assess clients, select appropriate exercises, and create effective, client-centred class plans.

Part 2 – Somatic Integration and Apparatus Repertoire

Advance your teaching skills with somatic principles and comprehensive Pilates apparatus training.

  • Module 5: Somatic Movement Integration & Reformer Repertoire
    Integrate somatic practices into reformer work, enhancing client awareness and connection.

  • Module 6: Reformer & Trapeze Table
    Gain proficiency in reformer and trapeze table exercises to support diverse client needs.
    Dates: 9 and 10 Aug 2025, 1pm to 7pm
  • Module 7: Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector & Pilates Chair
    Explore the unique functions and applications of barrel and chair apparatus for full-body conditioning.
    Dates: 13 and 14 Sep 2025, 1pm to 7pm
  • Module 8: Advanced Assessment Tools & Case Studies
    Develop advanced assessment skills and apply them to real-life case studies across a range of conditions and life stages.

Exemption for past Pilates Teacher Training Programme trainees

  • Past Mat Pilates Teacher Training Programme graduates who have passed their exam may skip Part 1 and enrol in Part 2 directly. They have the option to review programme modules at $400/module subject to availability.
  • Past Somatic Reformer Pilates Teacher Training Programme graduates may be exempted from Module 1 of Part 1 and Module 1 of Part 2 if they choose to continue their studies with us, to complete full apparatus studies to become a full-fledged pilates teacher.

About the Trainer

Charis Koh

Charis Koh is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of movement. Over the past 12 years, she has dedicated herself to sharing the love of movement through teaching groups and coaching individuals on a personal level. With a client-centric approach, she not only trains people but also empowers them with the tools and knowledge to take control of their own physical health and fitness goals.

One of Charis’s core beliefs is that movement is for everyone, regardless of age or starting point. She firmly believes in the inclusivity of movement, and she enjoys working with absolute beginners who are embarking on their own movement journey. Whether it’s coaching for better performance in activities like climbing, dancing, or playing tennis/golf, or providing post-injury rehabilitation and managing long-term physical health conditions such as Scoliosis and Osteopenia, Charis is dedicated to helping individuals move with greater ease, fluidity, and confidence.

Charis emphasises that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to movement and healing. Having experienced similar results through various methods, she believes that it is a matter of choice and precise timing. She is committed to journeying with individuals on their healing path, discovering more about themselves in the process.

Charis’s approach to her work reflects her deep curiosity, open-mindedness, and grounding. She values authenticity and recognises the interconnectedness between disciplines and modalities. By exploring this relationship, she discovers practical and simple solutions to seemingly complex issues, acting as a bridge between science and art.

The collective wisdom of Charis’s experiences is woven into everything she practices and offers to her clients through her platform, Hello Body. As she enters a new phase of her work, she aspires to guide and mentor aspiring Movement and Pilates teachers, sharing her 12 years of experience, acting as a guide, sounding board, and cheerleader. Together with them, she aims to uncover their unique wisdom and gifts, enabling them to make a positive impact in the world through this transformative work.
